The Kupilka FireSteel 8 is a fire-starting tool designed with Karu Survival for bushcraft and survival use. Its ferrocerium rod throws sparks hot enough to ignite tinder even in humid conditions, and the secure handle can be gripped while wearing gloves.
The set includes a compact striker and an ethically produced reindeer leather cord, so the rod and striker stay together in a pack or pocket. The striker is a by-product of the metal industry, which means its surface may show slight color variations.
Made in Finland from a European ferrocerium rod, the FireSteel 8 measures 4.9 inches long and weighs 1.7 ounces with the striker and cord attached.
